VBS Outreach:
Join us this
Wednesday, 9:00 am AND/OR 5:00 pm in room B110.
We will be placing invitations on
doors in our neighborhood and local apartments.
The more volunteers, the more children reached.
Why is VBS important?
It is here that many children come to know
Christ. Unchurched families may not attend our
churches, but they may send their children to
Bible school. According to the
Barna Group , "Nearly half (43%)
of all Americans who accept Jesus Christ as
their savior do so before reaching the age of 13
(2004)."
The sad news is that the Barna Group also found
that "Another shift in children’s ministry since
1997 has been the 12% decline in the percentage
of churches offering Vacation Bible School (or
VBS) - from 81% to 69%. That represents about
38,000 fewer churches offering VBS than eight
years ago." In response to their question, "Why
not offer VBS?", pastors' top three reasons were
- a lack of teachers, a lack of time, and
that they offer "other activities."
Without workers we'd just have a lot of kids
running wild! Your volunteering can make a
huge difference in the life of a child.
Please

6:15 - 7:15 pm, Room B101
Facilitator: Pastor Larry Burrow
Every
believer has one or more spiritual gifts. Do you
know what your gift(s) are? Do you know why you
have been given your gifts? Since the gifts do
not come to us gift wrapped and labeled, we
might not be sure which one(s) we have been
given. The Bible has much to say about spiritual
gifts and answers many of our questions about
them. If you would like to learn more about
spiritual gifts,
join us Wednesday,
beginning July 23.

Even When He is Silent, He is Not Absent
July 6 - Michael
Pierpoint
Genesis 39 NIV
1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar,
an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the
guard,
bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.
2 The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered,
and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.
3 When his master saw that the LORD was with him
and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did,
4 Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant.
Potiphar put him in charge of his household,
and he entrusted to his care everything he owned...
